I learned AC made their own closed cockpit version of their roadster for the 1964 LeMans race ala Shelby Daytona.
Apparently it (as there was only 1) also crashed out and killed 3 spectators (who were in an illegal area).
But holy crap is this thing is sexy! The Daytona is more masculine, and the A98 is definitely more feminine. And I find it interesting how it’s never even been mentioned with the Daytona considering both are powered by a Ford V8.
I’m just surprised I had no idea this was a thing until I started looking up Kammbacks. This just further confirms my theory that early 1960 Closed Cockpit FR Touring Cars are the sexiest cars ever.
